Causes of Back Pain

Back pain is most common among young adults and older people alike. Changing lifestyles, age are universal reasons for this condition in the body most of the times leading to stiffness in the spine, lack of stability causing great discomfort. Muscle strain, injury to the muscles and ligaments supporting the spine, sitting in awkward postures, getting up all of a sudden, being over weight, are some of the other causes of back pain. It can be acute, lasting for not more than a period of 3 months, recurrent back pain that occurs every now and then and chronic back pain lasting for more than three months.

Karanja and Nirgundi Leaves Take a bowl full of karanja and nirgundi leaves and tie them up in a muslin cloth forming a ball. Boil this ball in steaming water and apply it on the area that is painful after it cools down slightly, repeat the process until considerable relief is attained. Also grinding the leaves to a paste and tying them up in a cloth and applying on the affected area give relief.

Aswagandha Roots of aswagandha, also known as Indian Ginseng, have great medicinal properties. It helps maintain proper nourishment to muscle and bone tissues. Aswagandha pills are available which can be taken twice a day for relief from back ache.

Ginger root is said to control pain and soreness with absolutely no side affects. Taking ginger while suffering from back ache helps overcome the pain . Include ginger intake in everyday diet for quick results.

Epsom Salt Add two spoonfuls of Epsom salt to your bath tub, maintaining water temperature that is comfortable and have a relaxed bath. Magnesium, contained in Epsom salt is anti –inflammatory and anti- arthritic, give relief from back aches to an extent.
