Causes of Urine Infection
Urine infections are caused by infections in the urinary tract and that is why it is known as urinary tract infections. It is a severe problem, which strikes a lot of people every year, and it is the second most ordinary infection, which takes place in a person. For some reason or the other, women have more chances of getting this infection in comparison to men.
Usually, urine contains waste products, salts and fluids but it is germ-free i.e. it does not contain fungi, viruses and bacteria. When small organisms from the digestive tract stick to the opening of the urethra and begin to reproduce there, an infection will take place. The tube, which passes on the urine outside the body from the urinary bladder, is known as urethra.
In most cases, bacteria called Escherichia coli or E.coli cause the infection. There are some people whose likelihood of developing this infection is more than the others. Those people who have certain disorders (which restrain the immune system) have more chances of developing urinary tract disorder. One such disorder is diabetes. Studies have reported that those who have had this infection before can also have it again. In order words, this infection can be recurring in nature.
Some of the symptoms of urine tract infections are:
- Urinating frequently.
- Pain in the region of the urethra or the bladder.
- Urine may look milky.
- Only little urine is passed.
- Uneasy pressure on top of the pubic bone.
Generally, urine tract infection is caused when bacteria enters the urinary tract through the urethra. When these bacteria get into the urethra, they move up the body and caused infection in the urinary bladder and other parts of the urinary tract. Indulging one self in sexual activity can also lead to such infections. Women who have sexual intercourse on a regular basis are more prone to urinary tract infection in comparison to other women. One other cause for this infection is waiting for a long time and then going to the toilet to urinate.

Ayurvedic Remedies
Some of the useful ayurvedic remedies to treat urinary tract infections are:
- Consume juice of cranberry. However, if you want, you can add some apple juice to it also.
- Take in half a teaspoon of tincture each and every hour if you have serious urinary tract infection.
- Take sandalwood oil, juniper oil, tea tree oil, bergamot oil and frankincense oil and mix them together (same quantity). Gently massage the region of the bladder with this oil. Do this for a minimum of three days.
- Drink a lot of water every day, at least eight glasses. This will ensure that the bacteria are flushed out of the body through the urine. However, you should not consume spicy foods, coffee or alcohol when you are suffering from this infection
